July 7th-July 12th/2007

-Went up North for a weekend off with Annie's family. It felt good to take some time off, but after 2 days we felt rested and were anxious to get back home.
-Annie began the demolition on the bathroom.
-I processed/organized scrap.
-Cleaned out the chicken coop in anticipation of the arrival of meat chickens. That is a dirty job that I don't really like.
-Annie and I weeded the garden and hilled the potatoes. We also killed the potato bugs. Emma worked with us the whole time watering with her new watering jug. She also ate a whole bunch of ground cherries. We also got our first zucchinis and cucumbers. The potatoes have started to flower.
-Annie and Emma have been picking black-raspberries every day.
-Got our 50 meat chickens on July 11th. Set them up in the chicken coop for now. Eventually they will be moved to the front barn once I clean out a section for them.
-I went on the truck with Mark for practice, it was great as we were just moving trailers to Leahy's. It has been several months since I went on the road. I was a bit rusty, but got in the groove quickly.

-Repaired north fence line, 3 pickets.
-Stacked fence pickets on fancy rack provided by the scrap.
-Removed old wood storage pickets and supports.
-Clean up of scrap wood for bombfire.
-Did a load of scrap with Richard. We also cut open 10 oil tanks for storage/organization of scrap; it has really cleaned up that corner now.
-The attention that the garden requires is endless.
