-Our meat was ready and Annie went to pick it up. I find it somewhat disconcerting that a living animal got on the truck last week and came back in boxes. Two years ago I was able to dispatch our cows myself and I somehow felt better about that; it seemed that I saw things right through to completion. If I had the skills, I'd even prefer to butcher them myself. This year we found a butcher in Huntingdon who can make jerky for us with the sirloin tip roast. Emma believes the cows went back to Grandpa-pa Maurice. I guess she will know how things work on the farm soon enough.
-I stacked wood.
-Checked to make sure the horse water wasn't frozen yet. Dale brought another round bale, so the horses are here for another week.
Weather
It was snowing this morning, no accumulation though. Windy.
Wildlife
Blue jays, chickadees, junkos at the feeder. Emma is really into the birds and looks for them as soon as she gets up.
