- One of the culprits that has been dispatching, kidnapping and eating our chickens and ducks was spotted today. I went to water the horses and upon stepping into the barn I startled a fox that had been eating the chicken eggs from an old, unsanctioned nest. I suspect it is a kit from this spring that hasn't yet become a proficient hunter and is choosing to live off our animals and compost pile instead. I now have a live trap set and plan to relocate him. Just in case I can get a clean shot, I bring the .22 with me to do morning chores, but it is like trying to find a ghost.
